BRETT TALLEY is quite an amazing singer/guitarist from Philadelphia, Pa that has been making some waves on the Philly music scene for quite some time. He played with his band, OutSet, for quite awhile and played with IKE and The Caulfields which includes John Faye.
He also plays guitar and does vocals with a band called Boomerang. This is Brett's third solo album and it features: Brett Tally- Vocals, guitar, percussion, programming; Brian Fin-Bass; Jason Miraglia-Drums with Fred Lahm/Joshua Hee-Saxophone and Anthony Renzulli-Fuzz guitar. This 10 song album was Produced, Recorded and Mixed by Brett Talley and Mastered by Chiff Hills.
UNCOMFORTABLY DUMB kicks off this album with a very, very lead guitar riff that is super strong throughout the song. The constant keys are very strong throughout the song, too. This song has some of the best hooks I haven't heard in a long time. The sax is perfect in this song, too. Very, very impressive, to say the least.
INTO THE NIGHT has quite an interesting intro as it suddenly switches in a very quite an amazing super pop song with a great '80's feel that might remind you a bit of Blondie and The Romantics. Great song. ON THE FENCE once again brings a different taste to Brett's music. The fast paced song will keep you on your toes and then some. This song could get in your head and then some. Crank it up and party. SPACE BABY reminds me a lot of The Tubes song and this is Brett's take on the song. The guitar riffs are in your face. This song would make Fee Waybill and the band proud. I love it.
BE STILL [YOUNG SOLDIER] shows a whole new side of Brett and his music as this song is a sweet, laid back spacey type of song that will make you float away for a while. Epic song. ALL THE GREATER brings this amazing album to an end. I must admit, it reminds me a bit of Michael W. Smith with the way will just carry you to another time and another place. Epic song.
I must admit, this Album is flawless from beginning to end. One of the best albums I have heard in a iong, long time. WOW! Is all I can say. I'd like to THANK BRETT for being in touch. You can find him at: Bandcamp, Deezer, You Tube, Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, Pandora, Facebook and other sites. ROCK ON, JIM ALLFORD [STEEL NOTES MAGAZINE.]
