The Swan Of Contemporary Music” - Heidi Holton”
The ubiquitous songs of today are lost amidst the proverbial shuffle when attending a performance with Heidi Holton. She defines the menagerie of what is needed to evolve
into a universal catalyst of success. Video of the last three decades has essentially mandated that any neoteric songbird
had to be a visual heartthrob, exude a distinct charm and
of course, a charismatic entertainer who permeates the air at the chosen venues in this country and The British Isles as well. Heidi became a staple of The Fur Peace Ranch
and the subsequent live performances augmented by their summer, southern Ohio festivals. Her distinct sound and memorable appearances are traits that are reminders of the halcyon days of "The Golden Age", the opulence of storied venues and the epic performances by icons of
yesterday and the captivating efforts by Heidi Holton are the mirrored images. Plaudits abound for her interpretation of “Why Mama Cries”, “Its Not That Easy”, & “Mockingbird Blues”, a few "gems” from her cache of tunes written by Heidi and a few chosen musical souls she knows. Heidi has circumvented the trappings of the genre and their derogated, pithy attitudes to dance to her own drummer and it seems to be working well for her. She is a vestige of “folk”, “Blues’ and occasional “Rock n’ Roll”, a scion of music that matters. Heidi remains as the model for her chasm approach while looking for the perfect performance. A constant reminder of San Francisco tie-dye and the Paisley Army of Los Angeles and subsequent hallowed souls of Laurel Canyon, Heidi brings the aura back as her vocals echo for days after an event, providing her own halcyon environment with her acquired , genetic gifts of music and the proverbial “Face That launched 1,000 ships”. These cantations abound regardless of location and seem to define her as a pillar of grandeur to a genre in dire need of Heidi Holton “magic”. It will never get better than this as she slowly ascends the rungs of the musical ladder, " one rung at a time"…………………
