"Miracles" Marty Balin 45th Anniversary (Winterland, 1975)

This song would bring back Jefferson Starship to a touring ensemble that would ride the charts of success through the eighties. With Marty & Grace Slick, the "magic" would rise from the ashes of Jefferson Airplane.
Thinking about Marty & his Father. Marty could be playing at one of the famed venues of San Francisco folklore or in Poland the next day & Buck would be there. Where Marty would venture, Buck would follow. The greatest parental love story ever on this planet. If Buck knew I was in SF & any event or party was scheduled, he would call and ask if I would pick him up and take him along with moi to the event. Who could say "no" to either of these storied souls & Buck always wanted to pay me for thinking of him. It would have been easier for me to pay Buck, always strolling down memory lane about Marty. Carl Schurr & Rick Martin would go to airports or drive to festivals and make sure that Marty was okay and off to events in various locations. Buck would be there as well. Absolutely the greatest Father & Son love story of the last century & then there was Susan..........For a brief tenure of time, there would be Susan & Buck for Marty, his heart was a constant smile maker & then...............gone. His voice continues to echo amidst the fallen leaves of Golden Gate Park, impact on an entire generation, his ghost walking beside Susan as she & precious few others keep his name alive & well in a now tainted genre. For Carl, Rick and myself, memories remain "golden", one of the five greatest vocalist/songwriters lives vicariously through us & Susan. "Yesterday is gone" and yet, somehow Marty remains as a part of us and we feel him telling stories, reminiscent moments after his father left this realm and on occasion how he managed to find the love he deserved along his chosen road. Fear not my friend, the airport in heaven beckons and when Carl, Rick and myself arrive, we will wisk you away to impending performance & Susan............Love from horse country..........We will miss you as long as we roam this planet Mon Ami. Tell Buck we said hello & if you see Tipsy, hold her for me.....☮ ☮ ☹ ☹
