ANOTHER WORLD FESTIVAL was held in Woodward, Pa on the massive property owned by Jill and Eric, which happened to be married on that day. They, almost, were nice enough to put my wife and I on the guest list, which we both appreciated a lot and we Thank you so, so much.
We arrived at the Festival a bit late, but not by much. The first band we heard was the CHICKEN TRACTOR DELUXE band and they had the best guitar pickin' and more I had heard in a long time. Very, very impressive. Be on the look out for this band.
We, also, heard ANCHOR & ARROW which did quite a few cover songs, but they did their own take on the songs. I must admit, for a two piece band they surely held their own.
The next band we heard was THE SIM REDMOND BAND which did all types of music from rock to reggae and each song they played was superb and had the crowd going. I loved them. GRANMA BEN was a sweet three piece band that added a bit of comedy to their songs and they all fit together well, each taking their turns to sing a song to the crowd. Great band and a must to see.
DRIFTWOOD was the next band we heard and they were amazing , to say the least, they played loud and proud and did not miss one beat. They were some of the best country rock music that will get a lot of attention in the near future. Watch out for them. RICHIE STEARNS & AARON LIPP was an amazing acoustic act that played everything from the banjo to the electric guitar.
Their harmonies were amazing on every song and sometimes songs remind me of Simon & Garfunkel. WOW! Is all I can say! PA LINE was surely a different type of three piece band that included a bongo player in the band. They definitely had their own sound and vibe. Check them out.
THE AIN'T SISTERS was a 4 piece space rock band which, also, was quite different as they shared their own groove and vibe with everyone. Very interesting band. GUNPOETS was a hip hop/rap band that took the stage fast and furious. Their presence was spot on when they started their show. Amazing band.
We ended the night seeing COZMIC THEO and they really had a vibe of their own. The band was as tight as ever as Theo made his presence quite known on the stage. They really blew me away. This band is a must to hear. I highly recommend for those that were never at this RockFest, it's a MUST to go to. The crowd was mellow throughout the day and everyone on the staff was very caring and thoughtful. What an EPIC FEST. ROCK ON, JIM ALLFORD, [STEEL NOTES MAGAZINE.]
