“Weakley” by Jim Allford

DAVE WEAKLEY is a well noted Lansdale/Philly native having played with the well-known rock band, TEEZE, in the late ‘80’s. The band, TEEZE/ROUGHHOUSE became a MTV Tonight favorite and they toured the U.S. and disbanded in 1991. Dave never stopped writing, recording, producing and performing and recently released his very first solo album titled

“WEAKLEY”. The Engineering/Production was done by Hazel Weakley, which happened to play clarinet on the song, Blown Away. Also, the CD was Mixed everywhere.

The Band is: MATT NARDO: Guitar; CHRIS FOUNTAIN-Bass; STEVE HARKINS-Keyboards; NICK MULLAN- Guitar and JAMES LOWE-Drums aka known as American Sugar Bitch.

The CD kicks off with a song titled, NEGATIVE WON which will grab your attention from the start. I must admit, I do like the rawness sound he has. KISSED BY A GHOST is sweet with a great keyboard intro. This song is quite catchy and the harmonies are great to hear, too. TALLER THAN THE TREES has a great T-REX type of feel and his Bowish vocals adds a lot to the song. You’ll be rocking out to this song, just crank it up! KANDY KANE is really a fun song and  the lyrics will have you singing along within minutes. Yes, she loves me! HANG ON is another great song with a sweet ‘80’s feel to it.

I feel once you have a ‘taste’ of WEAKLEY, you’ll be wanting more. This CD is quite a ‘hidden gem’ for those that love real , true music from the heart. This is no doubt, WEAKLEY ROCKS. I want to give a BIG SHOUT OUT to DAVE WEAKLEY for giving me the opportunity to review his timeless music. Also, a shout out to the band and everyone involved in making of this great CD.
