TOMMY FLANNERY & THE SHILLELAGHS is a 4 piece alternative rock band that hails from the Scranton, Pa area. Tommy Flannery is a well known gifted songwriter in his own right and well noted in the area by many musicians.
 
The band is:Tom Flannery-Guitar, lead vocals; Joe 'Wiggy' Wegleski-Guitars; Lenny Mecca-Bass, background vocals; and Chris Condel-Drums, background vocals. The band also features Tom Borthwick on keys, background vocals and Hannah Bingman on vocals. This 10 song Cd was Produced by Joe 'Wiggy' Wegleski.
 
BURDEN kicks off this CD with an excellent song that has an epic melody and great lyrics.Listen closely  to it and crank it up.Impressive, to say the least. DIRTY FRANKS has a country, rowdy feel to the song  that reminds me a bit of Steve Earle and Johnny Paycheck. I must admit, that song will grow in you. I love it.
 
YOU DID IT ONCE [BUT YOU CAN DO IT AGAIN] reminds me of a rock version of Bob Dylan the lyrics are a standout as the melody is kept quite simple and really solid.IF YOU DON'T KNOW ME BY NOW [YOU NEVER WILL] reminds me a lot of The Bo Deans with a superb beat and lyrics that will get to you and hit home fast. This song is a must to hear.
 
TWO COAL CARS is quite a treat as Hannah Bingman fits perfectly into this song as their harmonies are as great as ever.
