TODD & KAREN is quite an interesting pop duet that hails from Norway. Todd aka Oyvind Berge has musical influences that include The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Byrds and quite a few other name acts. Todd has quite a name in the music business in Norway and worked with several Norwegian indie bands.
He hails from Telemark, Norway. Karen aka Ina-Verdi-Ruckstuhl is classical trained and went to the Cork School of Music. She was born in Switzerland and moved to West Cork, Ireland. She is classical trained by her father and studied in the U.K. and played in the school's symphony orchestra.
The band is Todd-Vocals, guitar, bass and drums; Karen-Vocals, strings, ukulele, piano. This 8 song release was Produced and Mixed by Sigue Hoghaug and Mastered by Magus Gulbransen.
MR. BEARDSLEY kicks off this album with a catchy melody right from the start. You can definitely tell there is a Beatles influence there.This song is a MUST song to hear. WOW! Check it out for yourself.
COSMO CROWD, definitely, has a John Lennon taste to it as it reminds a bit of A Day in the Life without the massive production. The melody and the lyrics flow along great and this song is totally flawless.
BLACKPOOL LIGHTS once again has an incredible melody and lyrics that are bound to make you smile. They are singing about the city itself and have quite a Partridge Family vibe to this song. Interesting.
JUICY GOSSIP FROM THE MOTHERSHIP has the '60's psychedelic vibe to it with a dose of XTC taste. This song has a super catchy melody that you cannot love. Great job. BOUGIE SUZIE shows another side of the band as Karen does the vocals well as Todd sings harmonies in the background. Once again, they have a bit of a touch of the Beatles music to them which they do quite well.
