THE SPEED OF SOUND: a cornucopia 678 [Minerva]

THE SPEED OF SOUND is a five piece band that hails from Manchester, England. The band members are: John Armstrong-Guitars,vocals; Ann-Marie Crowley-Guitars, vocals; Kevin Roache-Bass; Henry Armstrong-Piano and John Broadhurst-Drums and various other musicians. This 14 song CD was Produced, Engineered, Mixed and Mastered by Chris Guest, Adam Crossley and The Speed of Sound.

WEST WIND kicks off this CD with a punk rock beat and great vocals. Seems like the vocals could remind you a bit of Bob Dylan singing it, which is cool. EIGHT FOURTEEN MONDAY is laid back a bit as Ann-Marie does the vocals which reminds me a bit of Debbie Harry singing it. HALF LIFE sure sounds a lot like Bob Dylan again as the song goes on. I, definitely, find it quite interesting!

MIND PALACE has a straight on rock beat as the chorus repeats itself as the band wants to get into your head. This song reminds of the old psychedelic bands from the '60's. THE HARVEST is a laid back folkish song with a sweet change of pace for the band. I must admit, the acoustic guitar is sweet to hear. Check it out.

BODYSNATHERS is a cool rock song that has a great melody as the rhythm of the song might throw you off a bit. I still like this song. CLICKBAIT is a great rocker that will really get you going . so crank it up. This song is superhot. QUESTION TIME brings this CD to an end as the melody is great and the lyrics are hot. Great way to end this CD.

Also, this is only one of three CD's as the others will be released at another time. Watch out for this band. Also, if you like The Byrds, Blondie or Television, you just might love this band. I want to THANK BIG STIR RECORDS for being in touch with me. You can find this band at: Big Stir Records, Bandcamp, The Big Takeover, X. Amazon, Head Records and other sites. ROCK ON, JIM ALLFORD [STEEL NOTES MAGAZINE.]
