THE PINKERTON RAID: JAGGED VACANCE WINTER SONGS BY OTHER PEOPLE

THE PINKERTON RAID is a one person artist that was actually born from the heart and soul of Christmas music from well-known bands and artists. They took these Christmas songs from other artists and made them their own.

The band is: Jesse James Deconto-Vocals, guitar, bass, banjo, harmonica; Cameron Collier-Trumpet; Andy Reed/ Chris Arnet-Drums; James Phillips-Keyboards, percussion, audio production;Derek Skeen, Sarah Sharin, Alex Mitchell, Suzanne DeConto, Megan Hollenbeck, Caroline DeConto-Background vocals. This 10 song album was Mastered by Justin Longerbeam.

HOLOCENE kicks off this album with a Bon Iver cover that is quite intriguing as the vocals have some reflections of Leonard Cohen. The song is truly a classic as he owns the song in his own way. Quite a gem to start out with. NORWEGIAN WOOD is his rendition of The Beatles song, which he made into a dreamy type song as the guitar vibes sound like a mystery in the background. Close your eyes and flow away.

BLUE CHRISTMAS is an Elvis Presley song which everyone knows. He makes it more like a 'spoken word' song. The pace is laid back as he seems to be crying to get noticed. Quite interesting. HAPPY XMAS is the John Lennon song as he once again makes this song into his own. This song has a feeling as if it should be sung at a pub as everyone is getting a buzz. Cheers, to everyone.

A LONG DECEMBER is a cover of the Counting Crows song which highlights the banjo picking away as the song matures into quite a few levels that in a trumpet playing as times. This song is sure a delight to hear as it;s something you'd never expect. Impressive.

A HAZY SHADE OF WINTER which is the Simon and Garfunkel song is once again something you'd never expect to hear in his version of it. I must admit, it's really great to hear new concepts of Christmas songs. This version has a David Bowie feel to it. So sweet.
