THE ON AND ONS: COME ON IN

THE ON AND ONS are an Australian super power pop rock band that will get your attention fast. The band's biggest influences growing up were The Beatles, The Everly Brothers and quite a few other name pop artists and bands.

The band is: Glenn Morris-Lead vocals, guitars, bass; John Hoey-Keyboards; Clyde Barmley-Vocals, bass, keyboards and Brian Morris-Vocals, drums with Jon Roberts-Guitar; Murray Cook-Fender 12 string guitar and Dennis Wilson-Bass on various tracks. This 13 song album was Produced by Clyde Bramley and Glenn Morris/Dennis Wilson, Mixed by Richard Ball/Dennis Wilson/Clyde Bramley and Mastered by Don Bartley.

ROLLER COASTER kicks off this album with some super strong guitar chords that are in your face. The intro reminds me a bit of The Who as most of the song has their feel. Supercool song.

SUNNY JIM once again has that WHO feel as the vocals and the band are as tight as ever. The melody and lyrics are great in this song. LONG RIDE is another strong song as the vocals are as strong as ever. They sure were influenced by The Who a lot and shows in their songs.

LET YA HAIR DOWN has an early Hollies/Swinging Blues Jeans type of feel as they show their true influences in each song. Nice. RUN TO TOMORROW definitely has a psychedelic type of feel in this song as they pound their guitar away in your face. Pretty interesting song.

TO DIE FOR still has the '60's pop feel that takes you back in time when pop music was stronger than ever. This song is quite interesting, regardless. ALL OVER HEAVENLY [YOU'RE MY EVERYTHING] brings this great power pop album to an end.

I must admit, their harmonies are the best I heard in quite some time. If you really love THE WHO, then this band is, definitely, for you. I'd like to Thank Maureen at Jem Records. You can find the band at: Jem Records, Deezer, Amazon Music, Apple Music, Pandora and other sites. ROCK ON, JIM ALLFORD [STEEL NOTES MAGAZINE.]
