THE FLEA PIT is quite a collaboration of the brainchild/drummer/keyboardist comic artist WILY VAN HAREN and guitar/singer/vocals/bass guitar/banjo/keyboardist HARALD te GROTENHUIS.
What is really interesting about this band is that it includes a comic book that goes along with all 12 songs on the CD . Listen closely to the CD and you could hear some weird noises, burps, screams, shouts, popping bottles, grunts, farts and laughs in the background done by The Flea Pit.
The comic book drawing are done by Wily Van Haren, which are excellent. BLOOD RED AWAKENING kicks off the CD with a great intro and BAM! Out of nowhere the band is in your face, loud and proud. ONE OF A KIND has spoken intro which is quite mellow and they slap you in your face once again as they are in your face.
You’ll love the melody and guitar riffs on this one. BEHOLD THE KING reminds me a bit of Jethro Tull during the intro and suddenly, once again, they are in your face with their hard metal sound. SPOTLIGHT AGONY has a great intro as their guitar riffs are hard and solid and draws you in. You’ll love this song, no doubt.
RADIO JARANSKI takes a total different turn and you think you will be listening to Pink Floyd. I must admit, it was quite a surprising treat. LAST CALL ends this quite amazing CD.
There is no doubt, this is one heavy metal band to be reckoned with in the near future. They are a MUST to hear.
