THE CYRKLE: REVIVAL

THE CYRKLE is a well known '60's band that formed in Lafayette College in Easton, Pa. The band was a three piece band that happened to be managed by Brian Epstein, who managed The Beatles. The band had 2 top hits during the '60's and they were Red Rubber Ball and Turn Down Day.

The band since then has decided to reform and with a new line-up in 2016 and evolved into a 6 piece band. The band members are: DON DANNEMANN-Vocals, guitar, keyboards, bass, percussion; MIKE LOSEKAMP-Vocals, keyboards; PAT McLOUGHLIN-Vocals, guitar and hand percussion; DON WHITE-Guitar, vocals;DEAN KASTRAN-Bass, vocals, and SCOTT LANGLEY-Drums, percussion and vocals. Other various musicians also appeared on this CD.

This 13 song CD, plus 2 bonus tracks were produced by Brian Kehew,Andrew Sandoval and Executive Producer Daniel Coston. The CD was recorded by Rusty Yanok, Dan Dannemann and mastered by Rusty Yanok, Dan Dannemann and Dave Harris.

This first cut in this CD is titled, GOIN' STEADY WITH YOU, which has a great '50's feel to it that reminds me of Richie Valens,  which is great to hear. WE CAN FIND IT reminds me of a bit of a song that Todd Rundgren could do with ease. I'm quite impressed, to say the least. HE CAN FLY is a short song with great harmonies that I could see The Beach Boys singing. Check this one out.

IT'S ALRIGHT IT'S OK has reflections of Buddy Holly and Richie Valens. The lyrics are superb, and the melody gets in your head. I BELIEVE SHE BELIEVES is quite impressive with great lyrics and a rock and roll beat. This one is great.  The 59'th STREET BRIDGE SONG is their version of the Simon and Garfunkel song. Check it for yourself. This is a great version of the song.

RED RUBBER BALL brings this epic CD to an end. This CD is a big treat to all CYRKLE fans and a MUST TO HAVE. I'd like to give a BIG THANK YOU to REX BROOME and CHRISTINA BULBENKO from BIG STIR RECORDS for being in touch with me. You can find the band at: Wikipedia, Big Stir Records, You tube, Spotify, Pandora, Apple Music, Deezer, iHeartRadio and other sites. ROCK ON, JIM ALLFORD [STEEL NOTES MAGAZINE]
