REBECCA LANE is a 23 year old singer that grew up between France and Ireland. At the age of 15 she mastered quite a few instruments such as the bass, piano, saxophone and guitar.
She, also, went to Toulouse University where she earned a degree in Jazz music. She released her first song, Ishca in 2019 and her second song, Anything, in 2022.
She has been working with other Producers and songwriters from Asia, Europe and the U.S. These songs feature beats and other musical sounds that she sings with. On these 14 songs feature many Producers which are: Rebecca Lane, Tobi Verheij, Owen Vos, Pete Davis, Noah Timman, Bas Wissink, Thomas Thurner and Joep Van Den Boom.
SWEET TOOTH kicks off this album with some cool beats as she sings this song with ease. The lyrics seem to hold up very well in this song as you get into the groove. Check it out.
UNCANNY OBSESSION is another cool song that has a sweet beat as her vocals just float along within the song. She does a nice rap in this song too. Great song. SHAMPOO is a complete beat song in which gets into her own groove as she raps pretty often in this song. Very interesting how she changes the groove near the end of the song. Worth listening to.
CRUSHED is a soulful type song with some different tones and a whole new groove to it. The beats are broken up a bit as she sings along at her own beat. HOLDING ON FOR DEAR LIFE is the perfect song for her as her voice is strong on every note in this song. I must admit, she reflects a lot of Olivia Rodrigo in many ways. I think at times you would think it was Olivia Rodrigo who was singing these songs.
HOMESICK is another great song as she just floats along in the song at ease. There is no doubt she is definitely a rising star in many ways. PLAY PRETEND [ROUGH] brings this album to an end.
