NEGATIVE TENDENCIES are an amazing three piece band that hails from California. I really couldn't help myself to which album I wanted to review for them, so, I decided to pick this one.
The band is: SCOTT STAMBAUGH-Lead vocals, guitar, keys: JONNY VEE-Vocals, Bass, guitars and DAVE LATCHAW- Vocals, keys, drummer. This 15 song CD was Produced by Dave Latchaw.
This album kicks off with a song called, GUITARS ON THE LOOSE is punkish and supercool. This truly is one party band. Check it out.IRIS BLOOM rewinds me a bit of the song Wild Thing for the intro and then the band spins off into their own zone. The lyrics are truly a gem. Crank it up.
MOTOWN SONG is really a change of pace and it's not even close to a Motown song. I do like the rhythm and melody of the song. UNSELFISH is a slow song that is really cool to hear. Listen close to the lyrics, they are so sweet.
YOU'RE AN ASSHOLE which has interesting lyrics as the beat is cool and the melody is great. This song is no way compared to the Dennis Leary song.BRAND NEW CAR is super funny as the singer sounds off key as the lyrics are a real trip. This song is surely worth checking out.You might even laugh a bit.
SMITTY WAS RIGHT is surprisingly really good and has a taste of the Dead as they jam away.This song blew me away. IT'S A GREAT LIFE is great as the band just does 'their thing' once again, but they are super great at what they do. This band sounds like The Dead Milkmen, Violent Femmes and so many others mixed into one. This band is quite a gem. I want to THANK SCOTT for being in touch with me.
