MITCHELL LIPS will be a band you’ll be hearing a lot about in the near future. The band members hails from all different places that would surprise you, but Boston was their main point.
The band members are: GRAHAM ALBRIGHT [ Cpt. Bisquick] : Guitar, vocal and synths; TANVEER HAQUE:Bass; ANDREW RAHM: Drums and percussion and KAMEN ROSS: Piano. This 12 song CD was Produced by Mitchell Lips and James Rowe. The CD was Mastered, Mixed and Engineered by James Rowe.
OPERNER starts off this CD with the reflections of Weezer and The Flaming Lips. The lyrics and the melody are great, to say the least. This song will be in your head for days.
COMPETITIVE JESUS sounds like someone’s in a drunk state and wants to have another drink. Listen close to the lyrics and get the message.
WHEN I WAS A SQUID would make Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart proud. The riff alone will have you wanting more. This song is a true classic and a must to hear.
MISANTHROPES reminds me of The Dead Milkmen and says quite a lot. I love the vocals and the tightest of the band. BOOGIE is small taste of the John Hartford song as they spin off into their own direction. You’ll love this song.
I’M A DOG ends this amazing CD with a polka like song, which the lyrics will have you laughing for quite some time.
