MELANIE SAFKA was basically a household name during the 1960's and 1970's , She burst on the music stage and embraced the 'flower power' generation and the free hippie movement. This CD was recorded live on Air Radio Broadcast on WBUS from Miami Florida on April 8, 1972.
The Interview was Conducted by Curtis Schwartz, in which the CD is dedicated to. This CD was Restored and Mastered by Beau Jarred Schekeryk. This CD is an interlude between amazing conversations and songs and well worth listening to. The dialogues are really impressive, to say the least. Between the dialogue and songs there are 20 interludes.
POET is the first song on this CD and her vocals are always quite a standout. As always, she sings from her heart. CENTER OF THE CIRCLE is a great, uptempo song that could stay in your head for days. STEPPIN' has a great stand out melody that will reach into your soul and you'll feel every note.
HEARING THE NEWS has her strumming her heart out on her guitar and then she backs off a bit, only to get into it again. I love it. MY GUY is a short story about finding the love of her life and how she found him. This song is so sweet.
The end of this rare recording ends with some dialogue and they play her song, LAY DOWN on the air to end the interview.
