MEERWOLFF is a three piece doom gothic indie rock band that hails from Washington, D.C.and Frederick. Maryland. The band is fortunate to have local legend, Wanda Perkins, doing lead vocals, playing guitar, bass and making 'noise guitar' on this EP. The other band members are: Jeff Orrence-Vocals, bass, guitar and Chris-Vocal and drums.
What is quite amazing, this band has been together for 10 years and that says a lot in this day and age. This 5 song EP was Mixed by Wanda Perkins and Mastered by Paul Leavitt. EVERY TREE kicks off this EP with some very cool distorted guitar as the drums pound away in your face. The melody and lyrics are quite catchy as you listen close to it and the vocals are spot on.
will make you want to float away somewhere.Then, suddenly, out of nowhere they crank it up and are in your face. I must admit, they have a kind of Blondie type vibe just more punkish. BITE is another interesting song as they pound away at you. You can check this one for yourself. Look out.
CRYING IN THE DARK brings this EP to an end as it's a super laid back song once again. I must admit, the bass pattern in this song is really sweet to hear as Wanda's vocals weave in and out of this song. I, definitely, feel Wanda deserves a lot more attention in the music business, as per the band, because of how they stand out on their own after all these years. Please check them out.
