MARCH TO AUGUST: SONGS INSPIRED BY WITNESS

MARCH TO AUGUST is far from what you expect to hear in an album. The music is about the struggle to combat racism, injustice and just pure evil during the Prohibition days. The story is a hard one to swallow as things haven't changed much over the ages.

The story takes place in a small Vermont town where the Clergyman Johnny Reeves leads the Ku Klux Klan. The story continues as the town is trying to get rid of Johnny Reeves and how the town is taking him on.The storyline has several characters featured in this album The music is Traditional Country and is sung from the soul.

The musicians on this album are: Derrick Mears-Vocals, banjo; Jodi Mears-Harmony vocals, bass, stompbox; Jade Myers-Vocals-Only the River. This 13 song album was Recorded, Mixed and Mastered by Darren Crisp. RUNNING BOOZE starts off this album with some epic pickin' that sounds like pure bayou music as you can picture him sitting on a porch in the backcountry singing this song.

I love it. LEONORA'S DANCE is a sweet , short instrumental song with some classy banjo pickin'. So sweet. PERFECT SON has some outstanding lyrics as the story is being told the times they are going through. This song cuts right through you.

JOHNNY tells the story about him and the evil he brings along with him wherever he goes Also, how the town is trying to get rid of him forever. WOW! What a song. VIOLA has a sweet melody as you can feel him sing this song to you. The melody and lyrics are quite a gem in this song as the storyline is strong once again. This song will stay in your head for quite a long time.

WOW! ONLY THE RIVER brings this album to an end with a soulful feel as his voice can cut right through you. The lyrics tell it all as the story comes to an end. Amazing. I'd, also, like to mention this story come a book by Karen Heese called, The Scribbler. The story is about 12 old Lenora Sutter, Diner Owner Iris Weaver and General Store Owners Viola and Harvey Pettibone. I'd like to THANK ADAM DAWSON for being in touch with me.
