LibCor is a four piece band that hails from Cleveland, Ohio. One of the coolest stories about this band is how two of the members met at a cancelled open mic in Pa in 2007. Since then they have relocated, during the pandemic, to Ohio.
The band members are: Olivia Lee-Vocals, electric guitar; Corey Kurtz-Acoustic guitar; Mike Deane-Bass and Jake Campian-Drums. They consider themselves oddballs on the island of misfit toys, but then again, many of us might feel the very same way in life.
JANUARY kicks off this 8 song album with an endless bass pattern that is bound to get in your head. The vocals are as strong as ever throughout the song. Listen closely. ANSWERS brings a whole new tone to the band with a sweet laidback melody as the band shows their wears in this song. The melody and lyrics are really strong in this song and worth checking out. Pretty sweet.
SICKNESS is straight up pink rock sound and has a Seattle type band feel to this song. The tone is quite different in this song as you can hear it for yourself. I love it. RUNNING AWAY brings this album to an end with another different tone from the band.
This song seems to take a country song like feel in this song and the vocals are sung by one of the guys in the band. The melody and lyrics are quite superb throughout the song. I must admit, it reminds me a bit of The Replacements which is supercool. This song is quite a gem and stands alone. Great song. You can find the band at: Bandcamp, Facebook, You tube, Soundcloud, Apple Music, Spotify and other sites. ROCK ON, JIM ALLFORD [STEEL NOTES MAGAZINE.]
