K C ARMSTRONG is a musician that has been playing the coast of Canada for many years. One of the highlights of his musical career is when Jeff Healy joined him on stage for an hour.
KC and his band, also, subbed in for the Hawks for the infamous Ronnie Hawkins. KC soon was recording with Robin Hawkins, Ronnie's son and recording a theme song for one of the Nascar drivers. Soon after that Ronnie hired KC's band at the time, [Cadillac Ranch], as his back up and they were hired to be opening for The Rolling Stones.
Sorry to say, it never happened due to Ronnie's ordeal with cancer. As the story goes, K C went on to record this album. The band is: K C Armstrong-Vocals; bass, 6 and 12 string guitar, harmonica, keyboards, producer; Barry Haggarty/ Scott Utting-Guitars; Steve 'O'Connor-Keyboards; Sean O'Connor-Saxophone Jake Adams-Drums and Mary Ellen Allan-Vocals. This 9 song album was Produced. Mixed and Mastered by K C Armstrong.
I DON'T CARE kicks off this album with a great blues song that has a taste of the Allman Bros/Marshall Tucker Band as the melody and lyrics are superb from the very start. You can really get your groove on this song. I love it.
WATCH OUR SHADOWS PLAY is a laid back song that has a very slow beat as the melody and lyrics are so, so sweet. You'll be swaying away to this song. Close your eyes and drift away.
UPWARD PROGRESSION truly has the southern rock feel which everyone grew up with hearing. The lead guitar and keyboards are great to hear in this song. I love it. SO ABOUT YOU is a slow paced song that once again has amazing lyrics and the vocals are so strong in this song. The melody will surely stay in your head for quite some time. Epic song.
WAITING FOR THE RAIN brings this superb album to an end with a very classy slow paced blues type song. This song is bound to get to you. Check him out for yourself.
