JIM NOTHING: GREY EYES, GREY LYNN

JIM NOTHING is a trio that hails from Ackland, New Zealand and they are quite a powerhouse. I love the fact that they have the great '60's pop music which seems to be making a comeback again. Once you have a taste of this band, there won't be any turning back. So, hold on tight.

The band is: Jim Sullivan-Vocals, guitar, organ, tin whistle, percussion; Paul Brown-Bass; Brian Feary-Drums with Frances Carter/Adele Andrews-Vocals. This 13 song album was Recorded by Brian Feary and J. Sullivan and Mastered by Mikey Young.

HOURGLASS starts off this still album with a super great pop song that will have you tapping your feel and more. The vibe is supercool in this song, check it out. WILDFLOWERS brings a whole different tone to that band as they do remind me a bit of the band, The Lucy Show. This could surely get in your head. Crank it up.

GREY EYES, GREY LYNN has a sweet intro as the song is a bit subtle compared to the other songs you heard by them. The flood is spot on as they play through the song. RALEIGH ARENA is a supercool song with a very interesting intro as the band slowly sneaks in their vocals. They outdone themselves on this song. So sweet.

THE SHIMMERING once again has that great '60's reflections a bit in the song. I love the fact that they keep it simple and just flow along with the song. Really cool song. SUNDOWN CLOWN is a bit laid back as their vocals are sung a bit softly as the music rings perfect and is non-stop in this song. Welcome to La la Land.

THE PASS brings an end to this album as the backbeat of this song comes through loud and clear. I must admit, it seems to have a bit of a marching beat to it. Great song to end an album. I'd like to THANK JIM for being in touch. You can find the band at: Bandcamp, Deezer, Apple Music, Amazon Music, You tube, Pandora and other sites. ROCK ON, JIM ALLFORD [STEEL NOTES MAGAZINE.]
