JEFF JOHNSON & PHIL KEAGGY are quite a duo that want to take you on a cosmic trip that will be an experience of a lifetime. Jeff and Phil both are well known in the music business, and each stands out on their own. This is their 6th studio album they have recorded together.
The band is: Jeff Johnson-Vocals, keys, percussion; Phil Keaggy-Vocals, guitars, bass, percussion; With the exception of Kyle Jones playing percussion on “A Co-inherence,” Phil and Jeff are the ONLY musicians on the album with PK performing guitars, bass and vocals along with me doing keyboards, percussion and vocals.
This 8 song album that is almost an hour long was Recorded and Produced by Phil Keaggy and Jeff Johnson and Mixed and Mastered by John Golden. SPINNING ON A COMIC DIME kicks off this CD which begins the journey they will take you on. The mellow melody has a Pink Floyd type feel but still very different in a sweet way.
The melody is superb to hear as they both have the same vibe from each other. Their music talks, if you listen closely. FLOATING IN THE CONFLUENCE is an outstanding song and it is as if teardrops are falling at times in this song. Without missing a beat they go into epic guitar playing as it interludes well within the song as it goes through stages.
I truly love all of this song. WOW! I'm speechless. The melody is right on the money. THROUGH A SILVER VEIL continues the journey they are taking you on as the melody might sound a bit familiar, yet they own their own vibes separate and together. Listen close and you can actually 'feel them' as they play each note. Quite amazing.
A CO-INHERENCE is a bit of a different feel as their journey shows you the many levels of having their music speak to through their guitars, etc....! Unforgettable! ASKING FOR WONDER brings this amazing album to an end and as you can actually feel they really don't want to leave and they hope you'll be back to hear more from them .
Their reflections in each and everyone is epic and will leave wondering why it all has to end. WOW! They blew away. I want to THANK JEFF for being in touch. You can find them at: Bandcamp, You tube, The Banner and other sites. ROCK ON, JIM ALLFORD [STEEL NOTES MAGAZINE]
