ELECTRIC CHEESEMELT is a four piece band that hails from Allentown, Pa. This band is far from the run of the mill type of band and they have quite a zone of their own. The band members are: BOB PURSELL-Guitar; JOE BARRELL-6 & 12 String guitar; CHARLIE MADZARAC-Bass, vocals and ERICK BLACK-Drums.
This 10 song CD was Mixed, Produced and Mastered by the band and is dedicated to their late drummer, Alan "Chief" Kitchen. MELTED kicks off this CD with a great '60 guitar riff that will have you reminiscing of those great early punk bands of those times. MATTER reminds me a bit of the early Iron Butterfly songs without the keyboards. I must admit, it is great hearing the wah-wah guitar being used again.
NINE DAYS has an Allman Brothers type of feel and it's laid back with a melody.Worth checking out. DEER MEAT is quite a headbanger that will surprise you a bit and it's super heavy to hear. I must admit, I love this one. This song would make Link Wray/ Dick Dale proud. RIPTIDE is , definitely, an epic song to hear as they sound a bit like the Shadows of Knight with a great guitar sound and riff.
The band is, definitely, worth checking out if you're into the early '60's punk rock scene and more. I, definitely, love their 'raw' sound, which is very rare to hear these days.
