Last week our creative community received news of the loss of Jim Allford who passed January 18th at the age of 73. Jim was such a character, with a big smile and an even bigger heart. While he often spoke of the love of his life, his wife Carol, and their son, it was clear his other great passion was music.
Jim told stories of playing bass in his younger years, and later working in A&R in the recording industry. He was always looking for the "next big band" and wrote music reviews for Steel Notes Magazine, where he was generous with praise and encouragement. He was a great champion for music, relentlessly sharing posts on social media to help spread the word.
It was always wonderful to see him and Carol out enjoying themselves, and I'm so grateful his final years were filled with such love, laughter and music. We will sorely miss his friendship and support, but continue to be inspired by his passion, and example of being young-at-heart. ❤️🎵
