FATHOM LANE: IN THE DRIFTLESS Inbox Jim Allford

FATHOM LANE is a very interesting alternative progressive alt-country folk rock type band that hails from the Twin Cities. The band has been making waves since their songs deal with dark overtones such as loss, addiction, isolation and redemption.

The true reality of life. The band is: Michael Ferrier- Vocals, acoustic guitar; Ashleigh Still-Vocals, keyboards; Matt Patrick-Vocals, electric guitar; Shane Akers-Lap steel, dobro; Paul Boblett-Bass and Alex Young-Drums. This 10 song album was Produced by Matt Patrick and Michael Ferrier and Recorded and Mixed by Matt Patrick and Mastered by Huntley Miller, Matt Patrick and Greg Reierson.

HOW IT BEGINS starts off this album with some very interesting vocals and harmonies that flow well together. The tempo of the sound is laid back as you can actually 'feel' this song. I do feel a C,S,N & Y type of vibe in this song. So, so sweet. FIRE UNDER WATER once again has very strong harmonies as they sing perfectly together. I can just imagine both of them looking into each other's eyes as they are singing this song. Superb vibe.

THE LOOKOUT has a supercool beat and vibe to it as you can feel the beat within you.The vocals are spot on in this song. The melody and lyrics are bound to get you one way or another. Turn it up and enjoy the ride. THE QUEEN OF ALL HEARTS truly has a sweet country vibe to it as the pace of this song flows slowly along.

The melody and lyrics are easily one you could fall in love with. A real true, heart to heart, love song. I love it. YOU & ME is their version of the Tom Petty song. Which they do an excellent version of. This song fits the band perfectly from start to finish. This album is a MUST to hear. Thank you Krista. You can find the band at: Deezer, Spotify, Bandcamp, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Pandora, You tube Music and other sites. ROCK ON, JIM ALLFORD [STEEL NOTES MAGAZINE.]
