ALEX BLUM is a multi-instrumentalist that plays multi-genres of music. He hails from Charlotte, North Carolina. He plays various types of instruments that includes electric guitar, bass, drums, harmonica and various electronic synthesizers, samplers and the list goes on.
He does all vocals and plays all the instruments on all the music he has released. He has used several sound engineers on some of his recordings which are: Matt Williams, Closton Byrd, Chris Young and Elliott Larson. On this 9 song album, Alex did all the Production, Mix, Mastering and Recording by himself.
HOMETOWN starts off this album with quite an interesting song in which he plays it all. His voice really stands out on its own as you listen closely. Check out the lyrics. MY CHILD has a simple guitar riff as you can barely hear his vocals in the background. There is no doubt, he's driving that guitar riff into your head. Quite interesting.
GOD LOVES US ALL is quite an interesting song as his lyrics are almost like spoken word in parts of the song. The piano and harmonica are definitely an interesting mix in this song. CURRENTS COLLIDE are a wave of synthesis to your ears as his vocals once again are very hard to hear. Listen very close and you can hear him singing and overdubbing his vocals. This song surely could work on your head and more.
CAROLINA RAP brings this album to an end and this song fits him well. I feel rap music is his true zone of music and he's right on this money playing this type of genre.
