DRU IRVING is a musician that hails from Newcastle, England. He is not only a professional multi-instrumental music teacher he is, also, a gigging musician. He plays all styles of music and is backed by a rock and roll band.
He loves teaching music to his students and helping them discover themselves through music. There are quite a few original songs he wrote over the years. The musicians are: Dru Irving-Vocals, electric and nylon guitar, piano, synths, organ; Peter Havey-Strings; Gusto Ljunggreb-Sax, pedal steel guitar and Chris Pepper-Bass and drums.
All his music was Produced by Dru Irving and Engineered and Recorded by Chris Pepper. I'd like to start with this review with a song titled, ALWAYS HERE, which features one of his students, Emily Braden. The melody and lyrics are quite strong as Dru sings and Emily's harmonies are right on. The violin fits perfectly into this song. Very, very impressive. Check it out.
MY 45'S is a nostalgic song with a '50's/'60's feel that will bring back great memories of those types of songs that you rarely hear anymore. WOW! Is all I can say. I love it. You have to check out this song. WITHOUT YOU is another pop song with all the hooks in this song. The melody and lyrics are right on the spot throughout the song. Very cool song.
THE BOTTLE is quite an interesting song as he narrated the intro as his voice starts to flow wlong in the song. You know what the song title states and it's time to stash it away forever. The sax is superb in this song. Sweet. THE DAWN [features Hannah Irving] in this song as her vocals are quite a standout throughout the song.
Their harmonies together are unstoppable and are great to hear. The melody and lyrics are super strong in the song. WOW! Is all I can say. MISS ME NOW is a slow jazzy type of song and has some very strong lyrics about an elderly person that never sees their children and grandchildren. Pretty heartbreaking, but one very sweet slow jazz song. I love it. I'd like to THANK DRU for being in touch with me. You can find Dru at: Spotify, You tube, Deezer, iHeartRadio, Apple Music, Facebook and other sites. ROCK ON, JIM ALLFORD [STEEL NOTES MAGAZINE.]
