MOONSHINE BRIGADE: THE MISERY STAINS

THE MOONSHINE BRIGADE is a four piece band that is quite an interesting band from 's-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands and they are far from the 'run of the mill' bands that you hear just about everyday.

The band members are: PAUL-Vocals, double bass; WILLEM-Vocals, banjo; ARIE-Guitar, mandolin and Lars-Drums, percussion. I believe their name is quite telling in what they all seem to like and that is some 'shine'.

Their 12 song CD was Mixed by Frans Haarmeijer and it was Produced by Frans Haarmeier and the Moonshine Brigade.

NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN starts off this CD with a very steady rhythm as the song has some sweet banjo pickin', which is nice to hear. The harmonies are great to hear. Impressive.

INSOMNIA has the band getting down and dirty as the beat is solid as ever and their vocals are supercool. I love this one a lot. They will even give you a laugh in this song. So cool.

GRAVEL ROAD once again has their signature banjo pickin' in this song as they rock away to their own groove. They really rock their socks and more in this song. This song will just blow you away in their epic playing.

COTTON FIELDS is another impressive song as they rock away to their own groove. This song has another great melody and super lyrics. You are bound to love this song.

HEEL ON THE SHOVE has a whole different groove as the melody and rhythm to this song brings the band to another level. The vocals at times might even give you a laugh. Check this one out by all means.

OLD BLOOD brings this epic album to an end with a blues type feel to the song. The band is right on every beat and note throughout the song. Crank it up and let the neighbors hear this song. Superb song and band. I'd like to THANK PAUL for being in touch. You can find the band at: Bandcamp, www.moonshinebrigade.com, Instagram, Pandora, Apple Music, Spotify and other sites. ROCK ON, JIM ALLFORD [STEEL NOTES MAGAZINE.]
