SHADOWBOX: THE WORM

SHADOWBOX is an experimental band that hails from Australia that is very intriguing from their first note. They have been influenced by bands like Peeping Tom, Portishead. Massive Attack with a dose of jazz, heavy metal and you might ever hear some opera.

The band is: ANGELDUST-Vocals, keys; NOFACE-Guitar, bass and JIM BOPALONTE-Bass. This 11 song album was Mixed, Produced and Mastered by Angeldust. RE-ANIMATOR kicks off the album with a solid beat with some strange noises coming throughout the background.

The vocals are like a mystery in a dream , coming out of nowhere and somewhat haunting. The beat is the same throughout the whole song. Can you feel it?

DEATHEATER is riveting as the guitar is subdued yet stands out in the background. Angeldust whispers to you,so listen close to what she has to say. Do you get it?

THE VESSEL is like having your heartbeat being heard as it seems to drive you down in pandemonium. You feel as if you're stuck in a cell and there is no way out. Unreal.

THE WORM is sound effects coming out of the walls only to drive you more insane. The noises will have you wondering where am I and where am I going? I think it's all in your head.

ABSENCE ADDICT has another beat pattern that will have you shuffling around as you walk into walls and look to the walls for answers. You realize there is no one there for you as you crawl around on the floor.

SIREN brings this album to an end as the noises once again get a hold of you as if you are a prisoner there of your own destruction. This sure isn't the Hotel California, more like a Rob Zombie film on ludes. I'd like to THANK ANGELDUCT for being in touch. You can find the band at: Bandcamp, Apple Music. You tube,Spotify, Instagram and other sites. ROCK ON, JIM ALLFORD [STEEL NOTES MAGAZINE]
