ICED EARTH is a heavy metal band that hailed from Tampa, Fl and they recorded quite a few albums over the years. The Blessed and The Damned is their latest release and it is a double album and contains 23 songs.
The band is/was: TIM 'RIPPER' OWENS: Vocals; JON SHAFFER-Guitar; ROGER STEVEN-Guitar; JAMES MACDONOUGH-Bass and RICHARD CHRISTY-Drums. The band has been known to do cover songs by Kiss, Iron Maiden and other metal bands. They also have changed members throughout the years.
I only received minimal info about this band. BURNING TIMES kicks off the double album with the basic hard rock riff that you must have heard a hundred times. The handbangers will love this band.
THE HUNTER is nice and laid back during the intro which then kicks into a nice guitar riff as the song gets heavier. CURSE THE SKY has quite an interesting intro as this song is a bit laid back. Not too bad! STORMRIDER has a great intro and then turns into a headbangers drem song.
BURNT OFFERINGS reminds of the horror movie and this would be a soundtrack to the flick.DARK SAGA has another sweet intro and the band is as tight as ever. DAMIEN is quite an interesting song as the worshippers would love this one. What an intro! Give it a listen.
LAST DECEMBER is quite interesting as the lyrics are nice to hear and then BAM! Here we go again.I'D DIE FOR YOU seems laid back and has a nice intro as it seems as a love song but turns into the usual heavy metal riff.J
