GARAGE LEAGUE is far from the average punk band that you heard over the years. The band hails from Pittsburgh, Pa and they definitely have a sound they call their own. They are a cross between Devo, The Minutemen and The Dead Milkmen, plus much more.
The Band is: JOHN POTISECK-Guitars; MIKE BENNETT-Bass and DEREK KOLOSHINSKY-Drums. This 21 song album/CD was Produced, Mixed and Mastered by Paul Neil. What I love about this band is that their songs are in tidbits.
OVERTURN kicks off this album with a 36 second song in which all the band members show off their wares.I love it. WELL THEN has a taste of the Sex Pistols which has a great beat and lyrics that are quite decent.
KILLER ROBOTS GOES SURFING is no doubt a song that sounds alot like Devo. Check this one out. I DRINK YOUR SKIN is a song that will definitely get in your head. Their song is more like a pop rock song, which is quite sweet to hear.
RATLINES could get in your head as the band lays down there smack on you. This song is so cool. DROWNING is in your face with the pounding distorted bass which sounds loud and proud. You could easily get hooked on this song.
CAN'T DO ANYTHING is quite cool as it's a mix of a rock and punk as they keep repeating the title, but it sounds great.BRITISH INTELLIGENCE shows that British punk rock music really influenced the band quite a lot.A must to hear.
CHARLE McCARTHY'S GHOST brings this epic punk rock album to an end. This album is a MUST HAVE for any true pink rockers. I want to give a BIG THANK YOU to JOHN POTISECK for being in touch. Please check the band out at: You Tube, Pandora, Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music, iHeartRadio, Bandcamp, Facebook and other sites. ROCK ON, JIM ALLFORD [STEEL NOTES MAGAZINE.]
