GIANT SKY is a solo project which comes from ERLEND AASTAND VIKEN, keyboards and vocalist from the post rock underground legends, SOUP. A well noted band that hailed from Norway. The backup band is made up of a conglomeration of members from other bands.They are: Espen Berge, Sverre Leraand, Erlend Aastad: Drums; Ivan Ushakov: Flutes; Liv Brox: Viola; Eav: Various Instruments;Vegard Lien Bjerkan: Church Organ; Sturla Fagerli Larsen; Various Percussion: Myrtoula Ros, Eav. Marina Skanche, Sturla Fagerli Larsen and Charlotte Stav on Vocals. This 7song CD was Produced and Mixed by Kristaver Myran and Mastered by Christian Obermeyer. This CD has been compared to the likes of Brian Eno meets Nick Drake and Tame Impala co-writing the new Blade Runner soundtrack. In all due respect, get ready for a ride of a lifetime, musically. THE FUTURE WE GO THE DEEP IT GETS [Pt. 1-6] kicks off this CD is a nice mellow way with some amazing harmonies that will spark your interest from the start. I must admit, I'm very impressed in every way. BROKEN STONE reminds me of the Alan Parson Project doing one of their mellowed out songs. The song is quite laid back and amazing at the same time. One to check out for yourself. NO CANCELLING THIS is another very interesting song that will have you intrigued as you listen closely to every note as the vocals carry a great melody.I believe you'll love this song. BREAKING PATTERNS brings this amazing CD to an end. The vocals once again are quite a highlight as the band whirls around their notes holding everything together. What a great way to end a CD.
